Looking for something completely unique?

"Whether you are looking for a fluid sheath of ivory silk satin, the soignee chic of an Audrey Hepburn inspired '50s cocktail gown, or a baroque fantasy in brocade and duchesse satin, a visit to the Joanne Fleming Design studio is a great choice.

A woman's choice of wedding gown is probably the most important and significant fashion decision of her life, and it is essential that the whole collaborative experience of design and creation is as enjoyable and stress-free as possible."

From first informal meeting, through the toile and silk fittings, to final touches, you are encouraged to spend as much time as you need to ensure the final result is everything you imagined.

At your initial, no-obligation, consultation we have an informal chat so we can discuss ideas. We talk about possible styles and look at fabric samples together.

After this first meeting, once we have a feel for the sort of look you want to achieve,  some preliminary designs are drawn up in order to narrow the focus, and also  larger fabric swatches in the relevant colours and textures are ordered for you. At this stage you are given an idea of cost, although this may vary according to final choice of detailing and embellishment.

Some clients may already have a fairly clear vision of what they want, in which case they are welcome to bring along any drawings, photos, and other sources of inspiration they may have.....

Once the design has been agreed, a toile is made.....this is a basic mock-up of the dress shape, in calico or other suitable fabric, that enables us to check both the details of the design (eg neckline, fullness of skirt, length of sleeve etc), and the fit.

It usually takes 2-3 toile fittings, and the same number of silk fittings to achieve your perfect dress, although  this can be reduced if you live out of the area. It is advisable to allow a minimum of 4 months from confirmation of order to proposed dress collection date.

Bespoke bridal gowns start at around £800, with a 33% deposit payable on confirmation of design, a second payment after the second toile fitting, and the balance due on collection.
